Tashi Square is anothe example of "lost jewels" in Macau. Most of the visitors are only focused to visit Casinos and maybe St. Patrick's Church (that's all)... Get a guide, read and adventure yourself in those old alleys, you may find some surprises!

This is a square that you might visit on your way from the ferries to the Historic Center(re) of Macau. As such, it might be your first proper look at Macau's colonial architecture—and what a treat! The square is very well-maintained and when I was there all of the buildings looked as if they were freshly painted. It's both a great place to have a seat and relax on your walk around Macau, and a great place (once of the best in town) to admire the colonial architecture.

This was a huge square that I came across during my wandering around Macau. The surrounding Portuguese era buildings housed the Macau public library, cultural institute, archives and Tap Seac Gallery. Only the library and gallery were open. The library itself is rather small and like any other. The gallery was tiny as well but it was free to enter and you literally walk through one art display and then into another to get up real close.
The square has a lot of open space and I understand that many big events were held there. Otherwise there was not a lot to see on its own.

For those who visit Macau the weekend before the annual Macau Grand Prix races, you might want to pass by Tap Seac Square, where a fair number of race cars and motorbikes are setup for you to see and enjoy up close.
Vehicles are roped off but you can get very close to them to take photos. There are information panels near all vehicles providing the names of the race team, driver, driver highlights, vehicle and engine specifications.
In the end, it is good fun seeing the MGP vehicles up close. For a similar experience, you can see quite a few more vehicles from past races in the Grand Prix Museum at Lotus Square.

It is a very big square. There have some art museum and a big library. Tashi Square is near my secondary school. When I was a high school student, I always go there to read books and magazine. I know that Tashi Square have many different activities, such as Latin festival, Craft market and many other festivals. That's why I love Tashi Square. But I have something didn't like about the square. It is sometime useful and lot of time is useless. The design of Tashi Square is a little problem. It cuts off the road on the ground and change it as a underground tunnel. I love the old design of Tashi. Overall, it is a good place to public and it provide a place to held many big festivals. Some suggestions, if you go there in summer day. You must have an umbrella or you will be a chocolate

Tasha Square is the local Chinese name for Tap Seac Square. Located in the St. Lazarus District, which is east and northeast of the main Historic City Centre of Macau, this is a large cobblestoned public square lined with traditional Portuguese style buildings and the location of many festivals throughout the year.
Chinese New Year is a great time of year to pass by Tashi Square. During the week leading up to the CNY holiday there is a large scale flower market held here. Many booths are setup with flowers, pinwheels and other neat holiday souvenirs.
Throughout the CNY Holiday period there will be cultural performances, lion dances as well as eye-dotting ceremony. Music, festival characters and large-scale holiday decorations are all part of the fun when spending time at Tashi Square during CNY.
Note: You should also check out the area streets nearby and around Tashi Square if you find yourself in this area of Macau. St. Lazarus hosts some of the most beautiful Portuguese cobblestone pavements and buildings in Macau and is much quieter than the crowded Senado Square. Also, Macau's best garden visit, Lou Lim Ieok is nearby and well worth seeing.

The place is used to organised big events for the city but there was no event took place when we came. However we had a good time relaxing in the restaurant nearby with noodles and a wide view to the square and the city.
