While boating through the mangroves (and stopping at a freshwater spring) we saw monkeys, crocodiles and many other water birds. Our boat driver spoke Spanish but was able to communicate well enough that we understood what we were seeing.

Angel was our guide on this delightful trip. We were able to see many flamingos flying overhead as well and many in the water. Angel did not speak much English, but between that and my minimal spanish we did fine. We saw other types of...More

We went on an early morning tour with Jose, 2 of us in the push-pole canoe, and it was fantastic. There was a wide array of herons and shorebirds in the mangrove channels and then a huge flock of flamingos feeding on the flats on...More

I can’t recommend this tour enough. As a couple we turned up and set off straight away with a local guide who spoke English and was very knowledgeable. You set off in small boats that are navigated through the mangroves by long pole (gondola style)....More

We had some trouble finding the site. When we asked the locals for direction, some of them told us it did not exist anymore and tried to convince us to take a more touristic tour at the beach. However, it was worth the effort. The...More
