Very interesting tourr and the Owner knows anything that's worth knowing about these birds. But beware - parrots scream, so don't think this will be a fun educational jaunt for your 4-yr old like we did!

The tour costs about $5 and this money goes toward taking care of the parrots. First you watch a video about parrots and the host provides interesting information about parrots. Afterwards you are allowed to see the parrots, there are at least 20 parrots that have been rescued. All in all very informative.

My grand-kids and I visited Parrot Island. Wow, learned quite a lot and talked a lot with quite a few of the birds, especially the female ones, which for some reason took a liking to Grampa. Very sad stories, but hopefully, they will all be placed. Too bad the birds weren't left in their original homes, but P.I. is doing... More

My mom, daughters and I visited Parrot Island together. I loved that the owner there showed us an introductory video on the threats faced by the parrots and the ignorance regarding the dedication it takes to own one of these beautiful animals. Next we ventured into the sanctuary. There are many, many sick and injured birds there. I am not... More

The owner, Ray, really wants to educate. Exotic birds shouldn't be bought at a pet store. He shares the birds he adopts with seniors who are lonely and need a friend. Special idea, but he bad mouths the other bird sanctuaries who have different approaches. Too bad, because they could really help each other with his educational goals.

It was amazing seeing the sanctuary and the beautiful birds. The couple who runs the sanctuary are very kind. They definitely insist that exotic birds should not be pets and from seeing the birds, I couldn't agree more. It was heartbreaking to imagine how those birds wound up at the sanctuary but I'm so happy that they're cared for so... More

The kids and I learned a lot about parrots. It made us a little sad, but we had a great time. Just watch out for Syndy's antics!!! Lol

Great place to see tropical birds, but also sad to hear about how they have ended up there- as this is a rescue. Great educational info provided, and staff seem to really care for the birds. Glad to support with a admission and donation. Great for kdis and adults to learn about the amazing birds there.
