This is well worth a visit... it is hilly to get there but it's worth the effort. There is a lovely square with stunning views and lots of places to have a meal or just a drink

Take our time getting here and stop in at the various art and craft shops on the way. There are also plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to keep you going by do make time to visit the beautiful blue domed church and it's small museum.

If you visit Altea you won't miss the two shiny blue domed roofs of this beautiful church. If you have time, park your car down below and meandour up hill towards the church. It draws you in like a magnet and is a beautiful structure. We passed several times and only once did we manage to get access inside. Best... More

You can take your time getting there as you will be able to stop by the little boutiques along the climb. You can enjoy the view from the top. The Church is beautiful with the domes being blue and white tiles

We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Altea. A beautiful little gem of Spanish culture. We couldn't leave before exploring the delights of the church, high up on the tallest skyline. Walking along the narrow streets was a wonderful way to witness how the natives live their life. The final staircase was a killer to those of us not as young... More

Take time to walk here . A little steep if your mobility is limited, but worth the walk. Very peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle, and you experience the real spain. Visit the lovely church and have a coffee or tapas in one of the charming little cafes. A small amount of little craft shops also.

The church and old town of Altea requires a climb but is well worth the effort. The church with its blue tile is set in a courtyard surrounded by views of the town below. Many restuarants and nice shops are nearby along the winding streets. This Plaza and church make Altea special and the most beautiful town in Costa Blanca.
