Arlington House is a Single House - of the sort that were built later in Charleston, South Carolina. This means it has just one room across its frontage, though it goes a long way back. So you see the beautiful room, but also once inside there are interactive videos and other presentations to help you to understand the history of... More

This was a great attraction that provides a lot of insight into both the country and the people. The tour which is partially self-guided and tour guided provides a perspective on life in Barbados and the importance of this town at that time as well as links into where the country is now. Very informative and helps you understand the... More

We enjoyed this museum and the staff were very helpful and sharing the history of Barbados and it's people. They have a multi-media presentation that is excellent even though two of the displays were not working when we were there.

When first walked in didn't come across as incredibly impressive - particularly when reeling from a $25-a-head ticket price (that said they did look favourably on pricing the five of us). But once I had managed to shed my Anglo-Saxon mentality - and chilled a bit - it is actually very good. Not loads of old artefacts etc but very... More

A lovely little museum housed in the former home of Skinner family (well-to-d chandlers) Excellent short film about formation of the island and a brief overview of its history. House is about 250 years old so interesting in itself Third floor excellent for kids; hands on exhibits. Weigh yours,ed to see what you would have been worth if you were... More

We only visited the first floor and decided it was not worth paying to see the rest if it was anything like that.

I would definitely recommend stopping at Arlington House Museum - it is a very well put together, thought through museum which gives you the history of Speightstown and Barbados and I found it very interesting. We arrived just before a large group of school children arrived and one of the guides worked it so that we were not interrupted by... More

Lovely museum. Coming from Bristol I found it interesting given Speightstown is known as little Bristol. Good mix of educational and entertaining content.

Having visited Speightstown many times and never been to the museum, we decided this year it would be top of our 'to do' list. What an amazing and informative experience. The house, the guide, the 21st Century inter-active displays.... There is a display of postcard messages/memories of folk whose lives have been spent in Speightstown. Truly fascinating, well worth he... More
