This lake is actually composed of three smaller lakes. It is a huge and amazing place for kayaking, windsurfing and kitesurfing. It encounters the sea at Ibiraquera Beach (Barra de Ibiraquera).

This is a beautiful clear water lake, with a very nice beach where it merges into the ocean. It is actually divided into 3 sub-lakes (upper, middle and lower). A very large lake, no motorboats allowed. Among the top places for windsurfing and kitesurfing, but also suitable for stand up paddle. The water is warmer than the beach close to it.

Altough it was windy, the lake is a great place to the ones that are still learning or want to practice stand up paddle as I did. You can see the birds around, very beautiful.

Easy to rent boards and classes. I recommend Lars at "WIndsurf Zone" just arriving at Barra de Ibiraquera.

My husband and I decided to come to Barra de Ibiraquera for our last vacation before the baby's arrival. It was definitely a great decision.
