This sculpture-only museum has an amazing collection and a lovely location right by the sea. While the temporary exhibit of Picasso's ceramics was great, their permanent collection contained a breadth of styles and artists. My favorites were the abstracted female figures by Dutch Artist Karianne Krabbendam .-

We went at the time of a Picasso exhibition. I have often wandered by here and seen the statues outside thinking the combination of art and the Dutch seaside dunes would be a nice setting for art sculptures. To my disappointment the building was very minimalistic with essentially no link to the location of the sea side. The exhibition was... More

Modern sculpture museum located on the beach, with sculpture in- and outside. Lovely place to visit on a sunny day.

This museum is on the edge of the beach and has sculptures inside and outside so you might want to hold on to your jacket. The quality of your visit depends on the current exhibition so make sure what's on.

A great one-hour walk from The Hague city centre (or a much shorter tram ride) takes you to seaside Scheveningen, which has lost much of its former glory and charm. Fortunately there is "Beelden aan zee" to uplift the spirit. It boasts a small regular collection, largely exhibited outside, and always at least two temporary ones. Right now the work... More

The Picasso exhibition was really nice. Even the famous goat was there. Quite surprising was the aluminum sculpture from Anish Kapoor next to the Picasso room. For the rest the museum is not that interesting except for the beautiful view to the sea.

The Picasso by the Sea was a real treat but did not outshine the rest of the museum which was equally delicious.
