The Grotto, in Bruce Peninsula National Park, is one of the top tourism attractions in Ontario. A shoreline sea cave with the beautiful blue waters, the Grotto is a unique natural wonder and memorable place to experience. It is also a very popular and busy location, especially during the peak season of July and August and on long weekends. At those times, the parking lot will fill up and you may not be able to access the Grotto.

Highly recommended. Fantastic blue clear water. Stunning!?. Who needs the Caribbean? Go to the Grotto instead. Trust me you will enjoy it. I did and you will too.

This was extremely impressive. We weren't sure what to expect really and it blew us away. Literally we were drawn into the water and didn't care about the temperature, we had to get in! Luckily, it was a hot day and many people were swimming....More

We hiked into the Grotto at the 5-9 pm time slot for the National Park. This was ideal as a little less crowded. It is a nice shady walk although very buggy especially at the Grotto. You need lots of insect replellant. It is not...More

This year, with the parks being free, it is recommended to go get your parking pass EARLY. We went during the 12-4 time slot and it was amazing. The water was cold but you get used to it fast. I highly recommend to bring water...More

Beautiful area, great park staff. Recommend going in the Fall months and avoid the busy season. The new parking system is great in my opinion and very efficient

The Grotto is called "The Caves" if you're diving in the area. This area is boat access from the dive shops in Tobermory and has super clear water. Certainly worth checking out if you're in the area.

If you've never been to Tobermory do yourself a favour. Get in the car and drive 4 hours north. There is NO traffic, unlike heading to cottage country in Muskoka. I didn't know Ontario had views this spectacular.

Although I am a great fan of TripAdvisor for finding neat spots that would otherwise be missed, The Grotto has suffered for its notoriety. Although Parks Canada tries to limit the number of people by portioning out the parking passes, there are just too many...More

We arrived just before 7 and had no difficulty getting a 7-11 ticket. The short walk to the grotto is pleasant and the grotto well worth it. Take a towel and costume, or you'll end up, like me, as the quintessential English tourist swimming in...More

Beautiful park. If you want to see the Grotto make sure you hike past the Indian Cove, which is sometimes mistaken as the Grotto. You can climb down through a small hole to reach the Grotto and you can also swim inside. Careful though the...More

Hi Suzanne, The hike from Little Cove to the Grotto is 11.2 km that is a return hike so you'll have to cover 23 km over the course of the day. Also keep in mind that this hike does include some very challenging sections of... More
