During the summer months, visiting Cyprus Lake, in particular the Grotto...

During the summer months, visiting Cyprus Lake, in particular the Grotto and Indian Head Cove can leave some visitors feeling frustrated and confused if they are denied access to these sites. As a result of the increasing popularity of these attractions, the entrance way and parking to access these areas are at times complex. Additionally, the rocky terrain along the coastline and access to the Grotto can be challenging for some. Please visit the park website for more detailed information on the Grotto, what to expect, and other attractions in the park and surrounding area if you're unable to access the Grotto. Additionally, visitors should make the Parks Canada Visitor Center in Tobermory their first stop so they can plan their stay and get up to date information on parking and other visitor activities.

From the crystal clear, blue waters to the magnificent rock formations to the adventurous climb down to the Grotto, I was blown away by the beauty that surrounded me. This natural gem of a place makes for absolutely fabulous pictures; but please do take caution when taking pictures on the rocks. Good Grip-shoes are recommended; hiking boots would be the... More

The Grotto is an attraction I've heard about for years and only just visited recently. I have to say, it really is worth the visit! It's a super neat cave. I wish I had enough time to climb down inside, but a day full of hiking can make you exhausted. In summary: Definitely worth a visit.

We went with little foot traffic but heard that in high season it is an absolute zoo, which is not for us. Water and views are spectacular. A definite must if visiting.

Great spot.. beautiful walks and scenery. Very difficult to get a parking and entrance spot on the weekends as the parking fills up very quickly... but that's to be expected. Beautiful apart from all the tourists ruining my photos (I get the irony) Would definitely recommend it, but if it's the weekend... GET THERE EARLY!

It is really breathtaking view, really pure water and one of the good hiking road, all of the views are really good, Cyprus lake and Horse lake both are interesting. We hiked almost 4 hours but still we liked to continue. In this flat country this jungle with a lot of ups and down is honestly priceless.

we took the paved way - the horse trail to get there and ended up at a pebbly beach. My friend wasn't too fit and didn't bring her hiking shoes. so it took some time to walk around. If you aren't very stable with your balance the big pebbly limestone beach to the grotto and navigating away may be a... More

Wow, this is such an amazing place and a must see and visit. Although you can see it from above, if you are able to, crawl down through the hole int he rocks and go right into the grotto. Going to be a very busy place this summer and people will be disappointed since there won't be enough parking for... More

The Grotto is beautiful but over the years it has gotten so crowded. I recommend going in early September to avoid the summer travelers. The water is super cold even in the peak of summer so its not my favourite for swimming but hiking for sure!

This is a beautiful location to swim, hike, and explore. The trail to the grotto is well kept up and very easy. The swimming inside the grotto is nice but not spectacular. If you enjoy cliff jumping there are multiple locations to do moderate heights with a little swimming. But be aware it is now illegal in the park. The... More

One look at the Grotto and it'll take your breath away. Natural Canadian beauty at its finest. Cliffs may get those with fear of heights a little nervous. People jump from one of the rock cliffs into the water. Maybe 40-50 feet jump into very deep water. Signs say it's illegal. People jump anyway.
