We went at mid day, was very hot. Suggest to go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat.
There is a site seeing boat tour that operates from this site: 4x departure per day: Departure time are 10:00am, 10:15am, 3.00pm and 3.15 pm. Round trip is around 2.5hrs with a 40min drop of at Tajong Dawai Jetty. Differential boat fares applied to foreign vs local.

The jetty was finely constructed but lacks the number of visitors to make it impactful. It also has little local use of the facilities that are available.. including a food court. There are boats one of which is for hire for persons interested to sleep on board a night or two or longer. There are small boats for tourists to take in the rivers and tributaries over a 3-hour duration. The area has wetland (paya bakau)

Small jetty, quite clean and well taken care. Its near to the mangrove habitats and there is small path to walk towards the river and enjoy the beautiful view.

A few small chalets by the river. Good for relaxing and probably some fishing boat rides. Nothing much else to do in and around the area.

Ample parking spaces.. despite on weekend, Saturday.
Sadly all information counters and the jeti leisure cruise also closed otherwise it would be a very good enjoyable day for the kids.
Luckly the jeti restaurant is open for business. We have our simple lunch which is reasonably good.
We’ll come back again for the boat ride island hopping.

Not been fully operational.it was supposed to be a good attraction for watching the mangroves and the habitat and the surrounding but the boat fare was too expansive. The others service is to have a ferry service to Pulau Langkawi but unfortunately it is not gonna happen. Not much shop or stall is operating. Futher down the road enjoy the Satay Semeling.
