Lake is nice, surounded by mountains. Water level varies during the year and sometimes is a bit low and then there are grasslands everywhere - you can walk there but be readdy to get messy. That is still ok. The worst thing are those enetrprising...More

To visit Napa Hai I would strongly recommend to hire a Gas moped from Yak Cafe in the Old Town of Shangrila as it gives you the freedom of seeing a lot of places around the lake as well as side roads. The lake itself...More

there's a road that goes around the lake, make sure you do that route and take your time , stopping at different points. The lake is stunningly Beautiful, and the area so serene, surrounded by mountains, with yak, sheep, horses and black pigs roaming free...More

Honestly, this is a giant open field with some yaks, cows and pigs walking around. You can see that just about anywhere around Shangri-La. On top of this, your driver will invariably try to collect kickbacks by talking you into taking a horse ride at...More

It was fun to drive around the lake and take in the sights, it's definitely a beautiful area and fun to eat the Naxi specialties at the various places scattered along the road. But there are better places to visit in the area IMO.

Maybe it was the wrong season.. but it was not extremely pretty. Perhaps if you come from a concrete jungle, it would be a refreshing change for you. But if you constantly see lots of greens, then you may give it a miss. Decent vast...More

Took a bike ride around the whole of the lake/grassland. We all really enjoyed the bike ride. Not a huge amount to see, animals grazing, villagers working. It's about 30+km which our 10 and 12 year olds were able to manage, it's relatively flat the...More

The travel agency was kindly enough to take me here without any additional cost. No entrance fee was required. The water level was not high and the migratory birds had also left at the time of my visit. The place is tranquil and it is...More

I doubt a bit, even so high, it has a rather mild climate there. But it depends on weather, which might be cold enough in that time. You may be lucky on a very early morning or in the highest part of the park. So don't be... More
