The gardens and the fountain are quite spectacular. Parts of the Palace are based on the Palace of Versailles. Small palace but big in character. Spend time taking in the stunning views. The Palace is quite unique and is a definite must for your itinerary.

What a lovely place to visit..... Hidden alongside a lonely , but well signposted road, lies this gem of a palace. If you are lucky to get a car park, there is a little way up to the palace and the park. Disabled should show...More

We visited Linderhof via an overnight tour package that also included Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. We did this specifically because we wanted to see as many of the "Mad King Ludwig" castles as possible (we're huge fans of the Castles of Mad King Ludwig board game)...More

I think this is a better choice time-wise than Neuschwangau, although we liked that too. It is easier to get to and is more accessible all up, at a much lower price. We liked the palace and the grounds - note that the grotto is...More

This is the most satisfying of King Ludwig's palaces to visit because it is more compact than the other two (Herrenchiemsee and Neuschwanstein) and yet its rooms are just as awe-inspiring in their richness and extravagance; and it also has the advantage of being finished!...More

We hesitated whether to go to Linderhof palace after visiting Neuschwanstein. The place is quite small comparing to other museums, but has impressive as amount of art. Another advantage is the explanations they have in many languages inc. Hebrew

It really is a beautiful experience - sumptuous decoration, splendid view and wonderful walking in the park. Weather wasn't fantastic (it was raining!) but still plenty to see, and the guided tour was interesting too. Don't miss it!

A beautiful palace! Personally, I prefer the grounds (i.e. Gardens, fountains) vs the interior which was a bit too gaudy!!! The rooms are small and every inch floor to ceiling is ornately decorated. Rooms tended to to have a color theme (e.g. Blue, pink, lavender,...More
