This is a MUST do activity: walk on the white sandy dunes to the varios small lakes. The Lencois are really like white bed linings, reason for the name. Although we only found one lake with water so we could cool down, it was worthy it! The tourist guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and funny. The boat and buggy trips... More

I included a tour of this region when I explored the North East of Brazil in January. I was soul searching and decided to embark on an adventure leaving my family behind for 14 days. Some people thought I was mad but it was the best thing I could have done. I used the services of Lençóis Découverte and in... More

I’m a nature lover and Brazil is just an amazing country. The Amazon, Bonito, the Pantanal, Fernando de Noronha and many, many other splendid places blessed with outstanding nature. The Lençois Maranhenses is one of the special spots. The crystal clear lagoons formed in the middle of the incredible white sand dunes are absolutely amazing and a must see! There... More

The best way is to trek in it for 3 days in the desert (for that choose Costa Leste EcoAventura) The views of dunes and spring water lagoon is just indescribable

While stay in St. Luis, I was able to take a day trip to this amazing national park. It was a long day, but I highly recommend it, if you are in the city. I was picked up at the hotel at 4:00 am and returned at 8:00pm. It was a 4hr. drive ( took 45 minutes just to leave... More

Lençois is a place to visit in your life. White desert with fresh water lagoons! Best to get to Atins, as you will get deeper in the desert while from barreirinhas you only get to the first dune!

A must go for everyone. This an unique place in the world. I don't recommend it for people with walking restrictions because you need to go up and down on the dunes, and it demands physical effort. Don't forget to check up the months when the lagoons are full, and bring sunblocks and light clothes.

To have the unique feeling that one intends to try to reach less touristy places. Look for full-day rides to lesser-known park areas. Anyway, it's always worth going.
