A gorgeous gothic basilica in a tiny village East of Châlons en Champagne. It's a mini Reims cathedral, although it's still massive. It's in good condition too. Well worth a detour to see.

It is big basilique in almost the middle of nowhere - the village around is supper small, and the basilique can be seen from the road already. Super worthy to see, it's just outside Chalons-en-champagne. The stained glass are beautiful!

Driving into Chalons-en-Champagne we immediately pulled over when we spotted this beautiful gothic church. It was absolutely empty and still. It is a gorgeous building and inside there are some beautiful statues.

Our Lady late-Gothic sanctuary with not-so-giant but beautiful interior and intriguing gargoyles outside.

The most gruesome and fantastical gargoyles you'll see. The church has two spires, one shorter than the other which gives it a special character.

If you are in the area you must not miss this church. It was built in one go at the end of the 15th and beginning of the 16th centuries, to the very highest standard of ornamentation and craftsmanship - lovely flamboyant gothic and a...More
