A popular Tourist spot on the hilly town of Furano is a fruit jam factory. A cottage hut hoses a variety of home grown fruit jams and home-made bakery. Rows of curious testers are lined up to taste a dozen jams on the table. Fresh baked scone, bread and croissant look doubly delicious in this jam house.

Decided to pop out and check out this industry - they have a very large selection of jams and you are able to try them all which is really good. I wish we had gone out the first day of our stay as we would have bought several to have whilst here. We were hoping to have morning tea there but they were not offering any options and their seating area had signs up saying closed - even a basic coffee/tea and a mini croissant with some of their jam would have been nice - may even get people to go and make a purchase. We are here in winter and summer may be very different. To our amazement there was a huge toy shop right next door - ANPANMAN - which we know nothing about but seems it must be very popular hear - seemed like a very odd place for a toy shop but whatever floats your boat - and yes we did go in to have a look - i am sure if you had little ones this would be a hit and cost you a lot of money.

They have all their jams out on display for tasting which was great. We tried a couple and bought a few of our favourite. The chestnut jam is so tasty and novel. They had a few miso for tasting too. I loved the garlic miso. After shopping, we cisited the anpanman gallery and store. It was so nice!

Nice little place with the main thing being all kinds of jams. There are more than 30 types of jam to sample for free with biscuits and toast bread.
We only had time to stay less than an hour, would definitely plan a longer stay for their jam making workshop the next time we come here.

Nice surprise, even tho its out of the way. I'm amazed with the various many different types of jam they make and that they allow the sampling with the biscuits. Super yummy.

And they have a flower garden at the back, driving up the hill. It was not in full bloom then, but very pretty as it is. Better in full bloom.

The place only sell Jam which range from the usual strawberry to carrot and pumpkin and other vegetables. They offer samples to try so we know before we buy. I quite like the pumpkin jam. We also arrange for the Jam making activity which was quite fun especially for the kids. The strawberry jam that we make can be brought home as souvenier. Very interesting place.

This place is interesting, as it was not only a shop selling jam, you can actually taste all the 30 different kinds of them before deciding which ones are your favorite. There are many varieties that are quite unique and I bet you couldn't find easily elsewhere.

At the same time, adjacent is the Anpanman museum(?) where outside there are the statues of the different characters for both adults and kids to take photos, as well as a shop selling the merchandise, many of which are only available here.
