Bizarre & Wonderful

I seriously love kaleidoscopes & collect them. Needless to say, I liked this place. The kaleidoscopes were housed in an schoolhouse which makes for a cool setting. It kind of seemed post-apocalyptic. The collector, Ikuya Mitsui, was so nice!!

Magical experience
Oct 2016 • Couples
Furabi offers a magical experience unlike any other.
In the midst of farmlands in a seemingly abandoned schoolhouse you will find a world of colour and light. Well worth the short detour off main road. Allow at least an hour to peer through hundreds of kaleidoscopes of all varieties.
Don't miss taking your photo through the large one directly in front of the entrance!
A fascinating rainy day activity on a much prettier North/South route than the motorway in the West.

Awesome!

This place is just awesome. We were driving from Furano to Obihiro, so we searched Tripadvisor to see if any place to stop by. There were just a handful of reviews on this place, but everyone said it's worth visiting. We weren't expecting much from this place though. When we arrived the place, we were shocked to see an aged elementary school (more than 100 years old) there. We kind of hesitated to enter the place, but we went in anyway. The owner was really friendly, but we again hesitated to pay when he asked for donation of JPY800. Again, we were surprised that it was really worth it. They had more than 1000 kaleidoscopes to see and play with them. Many of them are one of a kind. It was so much fun. We ending up spent around 90 minutes there.
