It is a very sombering tribute to our servicemen who sacrificed all to protect us and others. You will instantly see the enormity of the cemetery and row after row of graves. The memorial is incredible.

I believe visiting the American Cemetery and Visitors center is a 'must see' event for any American visiting France. It is both humbling and emotional to visit the more than 10,800 Crosses and Stars of David that adorn the cemetery, each representing a true American hero who help save the world from a brutal and violent dictator.

The US Cemetery and memorial at Normandy is beyond words. On the warm July afternoon we visited, it was full of tourists from France, the US, Canada, Australia, Great Britain and around the world. Its rows of simple crosses standing in testimony to those who died to save our Ally is a powerful reminder of what countries can do when... More

If one is interested in World War II history, the museum is very good. The cemetery grounds are well maintained. Nearby, one can view the beach and walk on the beach.

A beautifully well laid out place, that is defintely worth a visit. From the car park, you can also access some remains of German fortified positions, overlooking the beach. This really brings home the enormity of what happened here. In many ways this free attraction was as good as any of the paid museums.

Beautifully maintained, and an excellent film presentation on way into cemetery. All is respectful and the proximity to Omaha Beach is very poignant.

After visiting the beaches, a trip to the American Cemetery was a must. It is a moving and memorable experience. We, and future generations, must never forget those brave Americans who died in France. The short service with the bells playing our national anthem (on the hour?) is touching.

You walk through this beautiful place and are stunned and speechless. It is beautiful but at what cost? As a European I feel such gratitude that you all came and helped!

This cemetery is enormous and demonstrates just how many Americans died on French soil during the latter years of WW2. It goes on and on. It's a beautiful location with the sea alongside and one can hear the waves crashing below as you meander among the headstones. The views are splendid and the cemetery is immaculate. Well worth a visit.

Respect. I always get goosebumps when remember D-day invasion and its stories. Watching movies related to this and actually seeing the place is big difference.
