My husband and his golf buddies always make sure to go to Sugarloaf at least once a summer or fall season for the last 6 years. This year they will be going in the fall and have been anxiously awaiting for everyone to be on vacate at the same time. It is worth the 5+ hour travel time because the... More

While visiting the Valley, we popped over to the Sugarloaf Golf Club for lunch- there was a diverse menu of delightful soups, salads and sandwiches! Even items that children would prefer! The food was surprisingly great, the waitress (Bethany) was phenomenal and the atmosphere (we dined outdoors) was AMAZING for an over cast day!!! The GC seemed pristine and well... More

A really beautiful course especially on the back nine. The staff was extremely friendly and helped set me up with a round of golf that was a vacation whim move.

Wonderful experience. My 14 year old son wanted to play the top 3 courses in Maine to celebrate his birthday. So we played Sunday River (absolutely the worst experience - don't waste your money), Belgrade Lakes (great course ranked #1 by Golf Digest) which was great. We both agreed that in our opinion, Sugarloaf (ranked #2 by GD) edged out... More

Gracious staff, gorgeous course in excellent shape, very accommodating to those needing handicapped flags. Carts allowed very close to most greens. Lodging packages available as well as one combining a play at Belgrade. A fantastic combination. Cannot wait to return.

We had read about this course, but even so, experiencing it while the autumn colors were at their peak was wonderful. The course is magnificent and well maintained. It has all the challenge one looks for in one of the world's top courses: highly recommended! Do purchase your green fee's on line in advance (significant savings, and we got a... More

This is a beautiful course in the Maine mountains designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Many beautiful views of the Maine mountains from the fairways. It is wild enough that moose, deer and bear can be see at times. Every fairway is surrounded by forest such that one cannot see anyone else playing. The fairways are fairly wide, so that... More

Six "senior" golfers played three Maine courses last week: Sugarloaf, Sunday River, and Samoset .Sugarloaf was by far, everyone's favorite for the following reasons: reduced greens fee with early on line booking, well appointed and stocked clubhouse with made to order food and drink available, a course in excellent condition with beautiful flowers, mowed fairways and smooth greens, easy access... My husband should really be writing this review as he is really the golfer in the family and he was very impressed with this course. Being from Scotland he has high standards for a course and he thought Sugarloaf was one of the best he's played in the USA (and he keeps his score card from EVERY course he's ever... More
