Josselin castle, a visit not to be missed ... Imagine a fairytale castle, whose tree majestic toweres dominate the river below. Concealed behind the massive fortress walls you will find the exquisite, flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance facade of a ducal palace. Here the very history of Brittany was forged. It is a place of legend and magic. Still the home of the Rohan family after 1000 years, in the public rooms restored in the 19th century, you will see a unique collection of furniture and paintings.

As one of the main attractions in Josselin, this impressive chateau with a history as long as the centuries it has witnessed offers tours during the late spring and summer season. Unfortunately for us, we will not be here when the chateau opens in April....More

My daughter and I truly loved this Chateau! The grounds are stunningly beautiful, and the gardens are extensive. Since there is a family actually still living in the chateau, you are not able to go anywhere but on the ground floor, which was a little...More

I was staying nearby in Loyat for 5 weeks and had been told a visit to this chateau was well worth it. I checked the chateau's website on no fewer than 5 occasions and every time was advised that it was open from 11:00am till...More

The castle is so majestic in this stunning little town called Josselin. Everyone so helpful and friendly. A very relaxed short trip.

Total ripoff. 4 rooms made only slightly interesting by my desire to validate the 9.50 euro price for entrance. Do not pay....just admire it from the outside. Nice French guide though. Again..TOTAL RIPOFF.

This massive chateau has too many rooms for any of the tour staff to be able to number but the tour visits only 4 of them. On display are portraits of the current occupant's ancestors and a king or two along with some nice period...More

Although we did not go around the Chateau ( we had a dog) did look wonderful. Entrance was Euro 9.20 ( which included the garden). Right by the canal and a lovely stroll along the banks. There are a few Canoes?pedalos to hire. In the...More

We paid to enter the chateau and were told if we wanted an English-speaking guide, to show up in the courtyard at 2:30. We explored the manicured grounds and showed up for the tour (the only way to see the chateau). Our guide was full...More

The Chateau de Josselin looks very impressive from the outside, like a fairytale castle, even. Inside it's a different story. The tour was a bit of a disappointment to us; only a few rooms were on show; the things that could be seen there were...More

The castle is certainly worth a view from inside, as well as outside. Some might be disappointed as you can only visit the ground floor rooms (the castle is still inhabited today), but the guided tour made is really interesting to visit, if history is...More
