The most important among the eight bhairavas of the Shaivities, is the Kal Bhairav temple. The centre of attraction of this temple is paintings decorated in Malwa style.Even today, the traditional practice of offering liquor to Kal Bhairava is maintained.

Kal Bhairav was treated as a commander of Lord 'Shri Mahakaleshwar' in ujjain. And as per local it is necessary to visit 'Kal Bhairav' after visiting Shri Mahakaleshwar'. The temple is situated in outer Ujjain. A good place to visit.

I found temple more clean than before....it is believed that without visiting Kal Bhairav the visit to Mahakal is incomplete... the main prasadam for Kal Bhairav is alcohol... and it is still a mystery where does all that offering of alcohol disappear... does idol of Kal Bhairav gulp it all?

The temple is quite popular temple in the town and lot of locals also visit this temple. Liquor is used to present to the main deity in this temple - heard first of its kind so in India. Looks like the Paatal Bhairav temple is behind this temple, and we did not visit this place.
