The Butterfly Research Centre houses the fourth largest reference collection of butterflies and moths in India, after the three National Collections. The largest insect in the world, largest Indian butterfly, most beautiful moth in the world, owl butterflies, leaf butterflies, etc are some of the attractions of the collection. To disseminate knowledge about these insects, a guided tour of the collection explains phenomenon like mimicry, survival strategies and other topics of popular interest. Butterfly origami kits are available. Half day workshops consisting of a tour of the collection, a nature walk and an origami folding session are conducted. Lunch is optional.

Wooden house of Fred Jr is simply Amazing...you would love to stay in John estate...it's very interesting place and many Bollywood films done here.

Very rare and exotic butterfly collection starting from Peter's grandfather's time in Africa and Papua New Guinea. Not only is the collection of butterflies and moths worth seeing but the explanation and narrative is excellent. A must visit if you are in this area.

It was wonderful time at BRC. I found refreshing environment with sound of birds and colors of butterflies. Thorough guidance about butterfly, Comfortable rooms and delicious food is attracting me towards it. I must tell you, this is wonderful place to stay and enjoy

Butterflies do not produce silk, so there is no connection between butterflies and the silk industry.
