The trekking into the cave is awesome squeezing through small openings in the rocks and climbing up and down rock paths was exciting in itself. The cave had lots of bats in different areas flying just above your head. The cave walls had lots of...More

Caves are just cool to begin with (in more ways than one) add bats, toxic toads and swiftlets, and it is just magical. Just a short walk from the village it's easy to get to, but it is challenging once inside. Bring a head torch....More

Went today with hubs and our 3 kids (5, 3, and 1) and had 3 guides helping us. The older two were fine with help from the guides (just pay them. Seriously.) And we made it through with the baby because we had so much...More

If you're not afraid of height, having to watch your step, or some creepy crawlies, then this place is for you. It was an awesome experience unlike anything I've seen here in the U.S.

After reading another review on here I'd say it would be hard work to find the caves on your own without a guide. We were a large group and had several guides who along the way told us about the milking of the rubber trees,...More

We saw lots of bats, which was the attraction for us. :-) There was more scrambling up and down and slippery rocks than I had expected. Don't be fooled by your guide wearing flip-flops! We brought head torches with us and our guide gave me...More

We visited as a big group (25) varying in ages from 10 to 60+. Whilst it is a fairly flat walk from Bukit Lawang to the cave, it does then involve some climbing and scrabbling around over rocks to get in to the cave. Certainly...More
