Small Scale and dated

The Castle was dated and of small scale, not much to see in the village. But do take a walk along the path to go to the waterfront where you could take a nice shot of the Castle.

Visit this place only if you have nothing else to do. It is deserted, nobody was there during our visit, and now I understand why: there is nothing to see. To visit the castle you have to pay 750 Yen entrance fee, only to see some German costumes. On ground floor you may purchase Boklunder sausages from Slesvig-Holstein and Lowenbrau... More

I would suggest you visit here only if you have absolutely nothing to do on this beautiful island. It's a shame that they built a replica of a castle and grandeur hotel only to be run down. The hotel is closed and castle is so isolated that it reminded me of haunted mansion. There is part of Berlin Wall too... More

I'm not saying it was bad that we only ran into another couple wandering on the site, but it was quite odd to see so many buildings without other people around. It reminded me of what Disneyland could be like if they took out all the rides and costumes. The buildings were nice.. we got here right before sunset. Everything... More

We showed up on a Saturday evening around 5 to look around. Hmm. Not much to see. We were told the one -- one! -- restaurant was closed for remodeling. I wonder if it'll ever reopen. The guides and websites don't seem to tell the whole story here. Looked to us like the glory days have passed. Maybe we just... More
