People tend to just see Domodossola from the train, and think it a boring place. But venture out into the village and find the Old Town - it is a fantastic experience of well-kept medieval houses, little alleys, small cafes and gelaterias. Finish the explorations with lunch on the town square and loads of ice-cream. There is also well-worth hiking... More

This market was full of stalls, selling a huge array of things from cheese to clothes. The food stalls were amazing, cheese, hams, sausages, vegetables, all fresh / home produced. Great Atmosphere. Well worth taking the time to browse.

The city of Domodossola was a great surprise for us! We went there to do the train ride to Locarno but In the end the best part was the city, the old city (Piazza Del Mercato), and the visit to Sacro Monte Calvario.

We got the train from Stresa to Domodossola and spent the day exploring the city. There are some nice shops and restaurants. We visited the Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola which has wonderful views of the city.

We spent a few hours walking around in Domodossola after travelling from Locarno on the Centrovalli railway. The medieval town has many interesting buildings and the Piazza Mercato is an irregular shaped area surrounded by buildings of elegance. There are cafes and restaurants to sit and watch the world slowly go by.

We started early from Bern with the train to Domodossola, the weather is great. We had coffee and croissant on the restaurant near the train station. Afterwards we started our sightseeing tour. Its fun as we roam around the market. Saturday is market day and a lot of people are coming to buy Italian products like salami, olives and etc.... More

My family took the train from Thun to Domodossola. It was a little over an hour. We enjoyed getting to experience Italy and visiting the market on Saturday.
