We visited this museum tucked away at the back of Maldon last week and really enjoyed it. There was lots of interesting this to see and plenty of information to back up the exhibits. Good value for money.

There was a lot more to see than we were expecting & £18 for a family of 5 it's well worth the visit. On arrival we were met by very friendly, passionate staff & were amazed to discover that everything in the museum was one mans collection. As the title of 'Combined Military Services Museum' might suggest it's a museum... More

Excellent collection of military paraphernalia, would recommend you allow plenty of time as it holds more than you would think when you first pull up (it's like a TARDIS). Well laid out, with short brief descriptions of all items ranging from one of the best gun collections you will ever see, to medieval weapons and even a section on spies.... More

I had a Sunday afternoon spare and looked on the internet for museums close to East London. This one sounded interesting and was only about an hour's drive. I thought the reality would be less than the write-up on the website but I was wrong. It was far bigger, better and even more interesting than I expected. The museum covers... More

This is a place for people who want to go into the detail of military equipment, badges and emblems, for me it was too much. However the place is very well organised and extreemly clean and tidy, in that sense an excellent museum

Second visit over recent years to the museum and is a little gem. For those of us who have served and those with an interest in impressive collections then this museum is very hard to beat. Certainly invokes memories and educates at the same time!

Tucked away down a side street in Maldon, just past the old railway building, you're greeted by a range of tanks and a SAM battery parked outside a fairly unassuming building. Step inside, and after a wonderful introduction to the contents by the enthusiastic staff, you're treated to a smorgasbord of military equipment and paraphernalia across centuries of warfare. It's... The museum's exhibits were extensive and covered a long period of military history. The exhibits' descriptions were informative and thought provoking. The museum's staff were eager to inform and paswsionate about their museum. THe museum visit... More

Visited with 2 young boys who loved all the models and displays. The person at reception was very helpful and gave us a back ground to the museum and its owner. The SAS and gun displays was amazing
