Many thanks for your feedback which we take seriously. Please can you email us on info@abclg.com with more detail of the locations of the dog mess and bins. We are not responsible for the entire site as Canal & River Trust look after the towpath and Natural Wales maintain the forest areas. If you can let us know which areas... More

We stayed at Aquaduct Cottage for one week in September and had a great time. The cottage has been restored and is very cosy. Most important for us it is dog-friendly, with an enclosed garden, but the entire site is fairly quiet and safe for a run around. Its a good area for walking, the tow path along the canal... More

We visited the wharf for a canal side walk. Very peaceful & pretty. We missed the cafe it was closed but we stopped to read about the industrial past which fitted in with our trip to Blaenavon. We walked through the woods & I didn't notice dogs mess as other reviewer so perhaps this had been resolved? It was a... More

Excellent cafe, with good food and seating.Cafe staff excellent.Quite interesting site, except when you go on the canal walk.No dog waste bins anywhere, lots of poly-bags of dogs mess hanging on trees,in the canal and thrown everywhere.THEN there is the actual dog mess everywhere on the canal walk, and the stench is revolting on a hot day.Enjoy the walk in the woods, and around the... Starting point for our family holiday with ABC Boat hire. Fantastic week thanks to a great company with well maintained boats. The canal is easily doable in the 5 days, stopped in Becon and then back. Thanks and will be back

We hired Rooster from ABC Boat hire and had a lovely day on the canals. To go as far as you are allowed and stop for lunch and be back by half four is pushing it a bit but we had a slightly quicker journey on the way back so just made it. It's a beautiful setting with the sheep... More

We moored up at Goytre Wharf during our Narrowboat holiday[ rented from Castle Narrowboats] for a look around and something to eat. It's peaceful with information boards about the area with some bronze statues depicting working life on the canal. The café was lovely with friendly staff and we enjoyed a good feed. All in all, a lovely place to... More

We (2 couples) hired from ABC Leisure, and contrary to a few previous negative reviews, had a thoroughly enjoyable experience with them. We had all sailed dinghies, motor yachts and motor cruisers but this was the 1st time with narrow boats. We were welcomed warmly, despite being rather late arriving, and probably running into the finishing time of staff. The... More

A simple straightforward cafe, with lovely seating areas inside and out. Food fresh, tasty and good value. Service excellent. Walk also along the canal or through the wood, or just look at the boats and the ducks. Large car park although many arrive on foot, cycles or indeed boats. Well worth a visit.
