About
Seal Bay offers one of the most exceptional nature-based experiences in the world. Fees are invested into ongoing research and conservation efforts and through these efforts we hope to preserve the natural habitat of a wild Australian sea lion colony for generations to come. Our tours are designed to suit a wide variety of visitors - you can stay all day if you want to! There are no enclosures or cages at Seal Bay. Instead, you will be taken into the heart of the colony where our experienced guides will teach you more about these endangered animals. Visitors given a unique insight into how these endangered animals fish, surf, rest, interact with their pups and defend their territory. If you prefer, you can set your own pace on the wheelchair accessible 300 metre boardwalk which meanders through the dunes to a number of viewing platforms.

Our grandchildren enjoyed the experience of seeing a huge colony of seals close up in their natural habitat. To watch the babies frolic along the beach was fantastic and the Conservation Park is well laid out so visitors enjoy a great view of the seals.
The boardwalk has many descriptive features detailing seal habits, species and historical facts.
Gift shop has displays and souvenirs and a very informative manager. Well worth the visit.

Totally beautiful natural experience. Will never forget seeing a mum with seal pup snuggled up to her. It is well worth paying the extra for the tour down to the beach, such a privilege.

The brilliant work that the Parks SA team perform at this conservation area allows the visitors the option to get up close and personal with Australian sea lion's in there natural habitat. The guides not only are subject matter experts but are passionate about the conservation of the sea lions and their habitat. A marvelous experience and an unforgettable visit that was a definite highlight of our visit to Kangaroo Island.

Very informative guided tour and walking along the beach so close to the seals was amazing. Great time of year as quite a few young pups and also some seals having fun in the surf.

Loved our visit to Seal Bay - we did a self guided tour on the boardwalk and saw plenty of seals. Blustery conditions but well worth the trip. Very well set out with plenty of information and helpful staff

Wonderful experience looking at sea Lions. Watching the young playing in the surf and on the sand. We touched the fur and checked out a skeleton in the information pavilion

Wonderful experience on KI…a must see and do. The high quality walkways to view the seals leads to the viewing platforms where you can view seals in all their natural glory. Well worth the $17 per adult charge .

Spend the extra money and do the guided tour with the ranger. You get to walk on the beach and have some close encounters with the seals while hearing some interesting information.

Fantastic experience! We paid extra for the guided tour and so glad we did. The guide, Leo, was excellent, even when upstaged by an echidna while he was giving his talk! We got so close to the Sea Lions, but never too close, so were able to watch them in their natural habitat and hear their noises and calls and watch them interact. It really was like being in a live documentary, absolutely incredible. We were there early October so there were seal pups too.
The boardwalk has all been done so well to fit in with the landscape and give access while protecting the environment.
Highly recommend
