About
Raptor Domain is open 11:00-4:00 daily (Closed Christmas Day). During SA school holidays gates open at 10.30am. We have bird presentations at 11.30am and 2.30pm where visitors can have an up close experience with free-flying birds of prey. Volunteer participation throughout the show allows visitors to interact with a range of birds but visitors can also purchase a ticket to hold a Wedge-tailed Eagle at the end of the presentation. We also have a reptile presentation at 1.00pm where visitors can get up close with a range of reptiles in a safe, educational environment. There is the opportunity to hold snakes and lizards if visitors would like to, but if not, then watching is also encouraged.

This was a fun experience . We did both the birds of prey and the reptiles. Very informative and interactive. Loved the owls!

We did the “raptor experience” and it was amazing. You get to meet 6 native Australian birds up close, sitting on your glove!. The jewel in the crown being the wedge tail eagle, Nellie. The handler was knowledgeable and engaging.

We didn't visit last time we were on the Island, but we made sure we did this time & boy we were not disappointed. We chose to have a private experience with both the birds & reptiles. We held snakes, lizards, owls & an eagle, as you could choose which you would like to see for the hour. We also paid for both the reptile & raptor presentations afterwards. Our private experience handler was very knowledgeable as were the other handlers for the other two shows.
This is not a wildlife park like the KI Wildlife Park you cannot wander through the park & look at the animals in their enclosures.

Very informative raptor presentation by Danny and Kirralee. The birds were superb. I particularly LOVED my eagle hold after the show had finished. A highlight of my trip to KI.

There are two shows - the Reptiles and the Birds. The Birds show is more popular and is the better of the two, but why not do them both.
One of the best things about this place is they let you hold the animals. Some of the birds fly only inches above the audience.
The staff know their animals and are very helpful.

We went to Raptor Domain to visit both of the shows, which were relatively well presented.
The one thing that pissed me off was one of the presenters always referring to my daughter and 12-year-old son as "you girls". My son found this very embarrassing and angering, and even took off his hat at one point to show the fact that he had a masculine looking face, complete with the beginnings of a moustache.
He is not trans, bi, gay etc, just a straight 12-year old male being, but the gender confusion was very irritating. At one point, him and his sister even spoke to the presenter later, with my son trying to forget what happened, but then, even when the presenter was looking him full in the face from a distance of maybe 40 centimetres, said, "you sisters have a nice day".
Pissed me and my son off.

Enjoyed the 2:30pm Bird show. Gave everyone the chance to hold a bird. The birds kept coming, raptors, Kookaburras, Owls, Wedge tail eagle.
The 1pm reptile show with snakes, lizards, etc. was also informative and interesting.

Very informative, birds all have their own personality which isn't hindered and they are interactive.
However, its unfortunate that they don't cater very well to mobility, being pushed past by other tourists, so we were unable to see anything up close and had no interaction with the birds so it was rather boring. You need to be at the front row to have any interaction or view anything

Presenters did a wonderful job. We were only there for the birds. Fascinating. We had an old brochure many things on that had changed. We were a bit disappointed by that.

Would love any information on the private experiences - the private reptile show and the private photo shoot, mainly was it worth the money? Would love to do one but so hard to choose.
