My husband and I hired a bike for the day. We visited this cave which served as a hospital and home for the soldiers and residents from the island during the wars. Interesting 10 minute visit. No guide required as the ticket attendant provides information before you enter the cave.

This cave was part of our motorcycle tour and was quite interesting. It was used to house all the residents of Cat Ba as well as Viet Cong. There is quite an amazing mini 'town' inside.

I think if you are not interested in war history, it might disappoint you a bit. It doesn't have any museum-like installation, equipment etc., it's 95% empty rooms. You need a big portion of imagination.

Must see activity on the way to Cat Ba national park. 3 stories. Buy tickets: 40000 VND per person. Budget about 30 minutes at most

Well worth the time to learn how the North Vietnamese tended to their wounded during the Vietnamese War. A guide is available at the entrance or you can do it alone.

We went there (40 000 vnd/pers) and found it very interesting. One advice: hire the guy at the entrance so you will get all the details about the hospital history and room functionality otherwise it s just empty old rooms in a cave ! You give to the guide the tip you want for the visit.

Whilst this is somewhat interesting it is nothing special. It is merely lots of concrete rooms in a cliff that used to be a hospital. For a much more interesting historical experience go to the Cannon Fort and for caves head to the National Park.

The ticket didn't not worth to see the empty rooms inside this cave. No one to tell you about history of the cave, you just walk by yourself and it takes only 15mins to be done. Not cool and north worth the visit!
