Syon House is the London home of the Duke of Northumberland and has been in the Percy family for over 400 years. Built on the site of a late medieval abbey, Syon boasts one of the finest Robert Adam interiors in the country and has a magnificent collection of paintings and furniture. Set in 200 acres of parkland and Capability Brown designed gardens, which includes the Great Conservatory, Syon is one of London's hidden treasures.

This is our local having moved to the Brentford/Isleworth boarders. It is superbly kept and very tranquil for families and leisurely weekend use. The main hotel on site - The Hilton Syon is also really nice and well positioned within the grounds. Soon house itself it spectacular and stooped with history, perfect for weddings. The glass conservatory is definitely worth... More

Splendid house very important for those who are interested in Adam's works and also historical places. Hidden jewel just on other side of Kew gardens (but not possible to cross the river from Kew to Syon !). Possible to arrive from central London with public transports. Nice gardens; very nice staff always ready to give you information about the visit.... More

A coachload of us visited in May. We split into two groups each being shown round this Adam style interior by extremely knowledgeable guides who were obviously into their subject. This took 90 minutes but we could have done with more time but had a coach to catch. There are information folders in each room if you haven't booked a... More

Unfortunately the house was closed which was our fault for not checking. However we did the gardens which are extensive with a large lake and huge glass conservatory. Very well maintained and you need to allow a whole day to do it all justice. We will return to look round the house on another occasion. Easily accessible by public transport.

A nice house and grounds with access to hotel, garden centre and close by the river. You still know you're in London and see the planes, but other than that a great little rural retreat in the town.

I simply love this place , it surprise me when I was walking through the park , the greenery catches my eyes , took some photos . Birds singing on tall trees . Best park in Hounslow . I truly recommend friends and family with children in local area and above . Enjoy the beauty and green trees .

Visited the house and gardens including the conservatory. Was a lovely experience. I reserved a wheelchair for my less ambulent companion. There are a few steps leading to the house, however, the staff were friendly and most helpful, assisting us. The lunch we had in the restaurant was very reasonably priced and my soup/scone tasted lovely. My friend had a... More

I have lived in London most of my life but have never visited Syon House until I returned as a tourist. This is a fascinating house with spectacular set piece rooms and impressive art and history. Well worth a visit! The weather ws awful so we spent little time in the gardens - but we did see the impressive conservatory.... More

I live in London for 7 years and visited the park several times (great) but only this week end did I visit the house itself. I was impressed, overwhelmed, fascinated, gobsmacked !! This house has hosted Queen Victoria for 6 years before she was 18. It is a concentrate of the last 5 centuries of English history. The interior is... More
