Revisited after a lost 30 years - still sacred soace

This building was amazing 30 years ago and we had an opportunity to return and were thrilled. It is still so impressive. It really is all about the light on the inside. We had... read more

This building was amazing 30 years ago and we had an opportunity to return and were thrilled. It is still so impressive. It really is all about the light on the inside. We had good soft afternoon light and the south wall was breathtaking. Just as we had remembered it and even more so. Do try to get here if... More

An architectural must. The gentleman on reception was extremely helpful with directions about how best to view the highlights of the site and in calling a taxi to depart.

I always wanted to visit this Chapel since I saw a picture in a book when I was kid. I'm attracted by "crazy" architecture, and I have to say that I LOVED this place, even if I'm not catholic at all. The entrance fee is, in my opinion, too expensive (8€), but if I compare with other monuments in the... More

I like the exterior of this Chapel. It looks beautiful at all angles. The interior does need a bit of freshening up, kind of dim. The pure shape of this chapel is very impressive. The top is like a boat. After so many years, still very modern. It is worth a visit.

I have long wanted to visit this Le Corbusier designed church after a recommendation from an architect and it did not disappoint. We drove from Basel airport and found it easy to find with the satnav and a lovely drive through some interesting countryside. There was plenty of parking and despite the hot weather the climb to the top of... More

Its been worth the trip over from La Chaux-de-Fonds ! Not only because of the beautiful drive but to see this masterpiece of modern architecture. Having read some of the previous comments I must say it is probably about finding the right time with few visitors, no tour-busses to enjoy the special atmosphere. I tend to think that many people... I had wanted to visit this chapel for years so was very pleased that we were staying near enough to do so. I have to be honest it looks more imposing in the pictures that it does in reality! It is very different and very modern and minimalist inside which I liked and it had a very tranquil atmosphere. It... More

This is a must for people interested in architecture and design. It's a thought provoking building whether viewed as a church or as an example of modern architecture. There are few facilities there but is worth the drive up from the village of Ronchamps.

As much as I'd heard about Corbusier's chapel, I was prepared to be underwhelmed by the actual place itself ... but I was wrong. It is a moving site and an inspiring work of architecture ... especially after weeks in France soaking up the Romanesque and Gothic. It's off the normal tourist track, which is fine and limits the number... More

This iconic chapel is a bit of a side trip but so important in the history of modern architecture. By all means if you are traveling in the area (we were between Beaune and Colmar) take the detour. Corbusier masterpiece. We are not religious in any sense of the word, but nevertheless were awed and moved. Unfortunately we arrived in... More
