On my way out of Pylos I made a stop to visit this interesting site. What u will see following the path by the small creek is a couple small lakes ending to a bigger one and an 8 meter waterfall. I ended up swimming...More

The access path is steep and not shaded, no doubt treacherous when wet and slippery. Then you have to crawl around under brush and over rocks to even find an access to a view. In July, we found a dried up, small stream, though you...More

Great, adventurous and hot climb to the falls. Wear good shoes and bring water. Not suitable for younger kids. Many people went in swimming clothes and swam in the pool at the fall. Very crowded around the pool. New cafe just opened at the starting...More

The Polylimnio falls are very beautiful and well worth a visit. But be warned they are also very popular and can get very busy. Go early is my advice. We got there (using Google maps) just before 10 am. At that time there were 4...More

I agree with other reviews about the danger factor of this place. I would say it is generally okay to hike when the day prior and day of has been dry. If it has been raining, falling rocks could pose a definite hazard. If you...More

What an amazing place this is! We were there during very hot weather so got up early to avoid the heat, which was a bonus as we had the place to ourselves for an hour or so. You walk down a steep hill from the...More

The Polylimnio Waterfalls, in Polylimnio Gorge, offer something different from Messenia's usual beaches. While walking inside the Gorge, we were immersed in a scene of lush greenery, gushing cascades and green lakes, filled with fresh-water crabs, perfect for a relaxing dip.To wear sturdy shoes, in...More

This place is breath-taking! The waterfall and lake are so picturesque. The water is very cold as you'd expect but it's so refreshing swimming in this turquoise lake. It a 20-min walk from the parking and I would recommend wearing trainers instead of flip flops.

Hi, I believe there is public transport but we got a taxi from our hotel, the taxi man was brilliant and he waited for us to come back to him and dropped us back to the hotel. Thanks
