The church appears to ve almost in the middle of nowhere. Perfect proportions and amazing details on the facade. Just beautiful. Really worth the trip. Try to do it as part of a longer trip to other romanesque churches in the area (Logudoro).

I never intended to visit this church but I was so happy to come across it when driving. I was familiar with it as I saw photos of it in my Sardinia guide. A great 12th century church with a great architecture in both its impressive exteriors and interiors is located on the highway between Sassari and the main Olbia/... More

This is a wonderful church in the midle of nowhere that it is definitely fair to visit, if you are passing by or travelling around the area. Said so, the 3 euro entrance with no guide is completely unjustified. The interior of the church takes about 3 minutes to be visited and there is no possibility to go up to... More

The 12 century Basilica della Santissima Trinità di Saccargia or Basilica of the Holy Trinity of Saccargia is the most important Romanesque church in Sardinia. The construction is entirely in local stone (black basalt and white limestone) and is absolutely stunning. Please visit it if you are in the region. Admission is only 3 Euro per person.

Worth seeing. The stone the church is made from is local. The views around the church are very impressive.

When you take the S597 road you all of a sudden see the most beautiful romanesque church of the island. The atmosphere, inside and out, is unforgettable!

A lovely Romanesque church a few miles south east of Sassari. Beautiful frescoes in the apse. Look for the carved cows on the portico columns.

Interesting place to visit although you will need a car to get here. You will see it when travelling on the Sassari to Olbia road. The frescos inside are fragile and have suffered with age but they are interesting. Strange to see the design of this church outside of Tuscany. Facilities are basic. There was a restaurant nearby but we... More

Worth a trip even though this place is in the middle of nowhere and you need a car to get to it. Good cafe by the side of the church if you fancy a longer stop.

This Is one of the most wonderful basilica in Sardinia. With its black and white exterior it can be In a way compared with basilica San Michele del Murato in Corsica. But also the interior of the basilica is amazing. So don't miss if you pass by.
