Not interesting
Sep 2019
It looks impressive from the outside, not very interesting inside, but great views from the battlements.

Beautiful place. Cheap tickets to see the castle inside. Amazing view on the city. Worse of time and money to visit.

Picturesque, Great Views
Jul 2018 • Couples
This 13th century castle was built by locals, at the orders of the king, at the same time that the neighboring Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Angels was constructed. The castle is less ornate, but spacious inside, with stairwells and parapets for defense that offer stunning views of the bay.

Great Value
Sep 2018 • Solo
In a country of value for money, Castillo del Rey tops the list. A great castle, exhibition and magnificent views and all for only €2.00 per person. Just brilliant.

A Nice Modest Castle
Jul 2017 • Couples
So this is quite a small, modest castle but we did enjoy our visit.
Like most places in the area, most everything was written only in Spanish. the museum part was the most interesting and I have limited Spanish so I could understand part of the explanations.
The views from the castle are nice, However the castle is quite small.
However, the entrance fee is a very modest 2Euro - so it was good value for money

Another castle.
Jul 2017 • Couples
There are hundreds of such castles. Nothing special itself, but
awesome views from the top. Worth the effort to climb. Check the opening times.

A walk back in time
Apr 2017 • Couples
We walked through the town to see the Castillo Del Rey it was a nice sunny day and the walk was relaxed if a little steep in places. There is much to see along the way including small shops selling gifts and ice creams. The houses along the way are mostly charming but the road is narrow and there are many cars that drive up and down the roads.

Incoming tide
Sep 2016 • Couples
This scenic town has a small castle an easy stroll from the cafes. While there is not a lot to see and nothing in English, you could get a good idea of its significance from the video that is shown in the tower.
The views and opportunity for camera buffs from the top are great and, when we went there, you could see the tide rushing in to cover the saltings behind the castle.

Beautiful
Jun 2016 • Couples
San Vincente is a beaufiful town with a great castle and Church. Beaufiful view on both the ocean as the Picos de Europa mountains.
