This was a sobering reminder of the tragedy, but more than that, it was a spectacular and tasteful homage to both the loss to the families AND the strength of the communities that were affected. The dramatic shoreline was beautifully honoured by this very tasteful sculptural monument. The surrounding plaques were very informative, and the walk down from the car... More

I come here sometimes to think and regroup. The landscape is picturesque. It is a solemn place set a few kms from Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. This memorial is one of two, the second is at Bayswater, directly across from Bayswater Beach.

Certainly one more for the adults and a nice Memorial site for the ill fated Swiss Air flight. Was free to visit and on a more clear day (was really foggy when we were there) you could see alot more of the ocean and surrounds.....

My wife and I stop here on our way to Peggys Cove not initially knowing what the memorial represented. The memorial is very well laid out and gives one a very scenic view, though quite far away, of the crash site. The tribute is very well presented and led us to doing further research on the crash. The memorial does... More

This memorial is right off the road less than a mile outside of Peggy's Cove. Obviously a deeply emotional memory for locals and those families who lost loved ones, and it is a worthy reminder for tourists traveling through the area. Depending upon your interest, a visit need not take more than 10-15 minutes.

I remember the night of the plane crash so visiting this memorial brings back the memories of all the fishermen and women that joined together to search..for the lost family members..this memorial was placed in this location for a special reason..people should visit this resting place just to read the story for the reason of the location. Beautiful peaceful area!

A beautiful memorial for such a terrible event. A dirt track path leads up to the stone memorial, which looks out to the sea. Definitely worth visiting when you have visited Peggy's Cove. Be aware the car park is quite small, but don't let that put you off going.

I remembered when this flight's crash made headlines in the U.S. I was glad that we took the time to visit this memorial. On September 2, 1998, all 229 passengers and crew perished off the coast.

This was one of our stops enroute to Peggy's Cove. Solemn tribute to this disaster memorized in an unique structure.

A very moving emotional experience that I will remember forever. The drive to the memorial site from Halifax was an easy one hour scenic drive. We stopped at Peggy's Cove first and then continued to the memorial site.
