This was my first visit to Jiaxing City. It's less than 1/2 hour by the fast train from Shanghai Hong Qiao Train station. The South Lake Revolutionary Memeorial Hall is a MUST SEE in the city. It's not just a tourist attraction -- It's a...More

Very surprised to find this museum in Jaixing but the exhibits explain why the leaders of the party had to leave Shanghai and convened on a pleasure boat on South Lake Jaixing. Interesting exhibits, many with English descriptions. We were fortunate to have a group...More

This impressive museum gives an account of the Communist Party of China (CPC) from a Chinese perspective, as one would expect. It provides a version of history to balance lessons delivered outside of China. Information is detailed, you can spend as long as you like...More

The museum is huge and largely dependent on visitors reading long passages (written in Mandarin) about the history of Communism in China. On one visit, no English audio-translators were available, so we quickly looked at the displays, paintings and occasional diorama but most of the...More

The huge museum contains literally thousands of exhibits about how the communist party came to power. With free entry, and very popular with domestic tourists, the nanhu revolutionary memorial is definitely worthy of a visit if you are already in the area.

The museum is a huge, fine-looking structure that is free to enter (security personnel check bags at the door). It's a popular pilgrimage site for Communist party members, military personnel, and people interested in the history of the party and the revolution that saw it...More

Rocks are admirable. The toilets are clean. Fishing can be a option if you take the old boats that are up for rent. Unique to the place are the old rocks and trees.

A wonderful three story museum but a bit heavy on Chinese only text. The museum was also bitterly cold in winter. However, the English audio was great (if again somewhat more detail than needed). Videos were also Chinese only. Not being negative here as one...More
