The Thean Hou temple is situated in the old part of Kuala Lipis town, facing the river, and just behind the food court. it is located along Jalan Jelai to be specific at the end. Opposite the temple is the jelai river. the temple was originaly built in 1989 but there was a flood in 1926 which destroyed the temple and the temple was rebuilt using concrete structure. At the opposite end of Jalan Jelai is an attractive Chinese temple, dedicated to Thean Hou (Tin Hau), the Goddess of the Sea. The temple was originally built in 1898, with major reconstruction after flooding in 1926. Visit, worship & enjoy views of the old building (less modern decoration pls).

This little temple has served the local Chinese community since the 1890s. It has a wonderful location right by the river, but modernization have robbed of most of its charm.
