Diane and the rest of the staff were great! The snorkeling was wonderful and the lunch provided was delicious. Are trip started with a ride down to Samana, where we caught a boat out to Cayo Levantado to snorkel. After about 2 hours, we went to a new location to see a sunken ferry. After the snorkeling we ate food... More

The Dive Academy has the most incredible excursions for both novice and experienced divers as well as first timers for both snorkeling and diving! Diane and her well trained and friendly staff made sure from the moment we began asking questions to the end of our excursion, that we were safe well informed and delighted beyond words with our adventure!... We were very lucky to meet the team on the beach and immediately planned a dive with them. We went the next day for 2 dives and were very impressed with their professionalism. I am not the most experienced diver and at no time did I feel unsafe. Small group dive, there were 5 of us and a dive master,... More

I wouldn't dive with anyone else on the island!!!!! Paul & team is amazing. As for the diving itself in the DR - it was a good refresher. The ship wreck dive was super cool and we saw lots of fish. Our first dive, the "wall" dive, was okay. After our 2 dives we spent a couple hours on an... More

We arrived to inquire about snorkeling, and were lucky to meet Diane. Her ebullient nature and frankness about what to expect was rather a cultural shock to us; after traveling in DR for 2 weeks and being accosted by untold numbers of guides who would tell you whatever they thought you wanted to here, it was a welcome change indeed... My journey start in the office of Diane with his delicious British humor in the style of the monty python. I felt that i was at the right place to experience new sensations. In the boat i had the luck to be coached by Audrey,a beautiful french instructor. In the water she always stood behind me holding my hand. I... More

My friend and I went on the snorkel excursion to Cayo Levantado (Bacardi Island) and it was memorable. We arrived at the location in Las Galeras and was greeted by Diane and fresh papaya juice. We were then taxied to Samana Bay and hopped on a catamaran to 2 dive/snorkel sites then Bacardi Island. The first site was mainly all... More

Our snorkeling trip into the Samana was perfect. We had a wonderful guide, Mike. He took us out over a ship wreck and the sights were unreal! You could see everything below! We swam around an island and the coral was gorgeous. The drop off scared me because you cannot see anything since it dives down so deep. I stayed... More

During our week-long stay in Las Galeras, Diane and The Dive Academy proved in invaluable resource. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We utilized their shop to rent snorkel gear, and hope to scuba with them some day soon. Even with just getting gear, Diane dispensed wisdom, humor, and welcomed advice about the town, the best spots to snorkel, and... More
