Spectacular Waterfalls (on two levels) on the Hvita River with its force and beauty amidst the Snow and Ice with its own Rainbows. Like all natural sites not damaged by man, it will enthral and captivate you. Definitely a must see.

We did a tour of the golden circle on a clear crisp day. The gullfoss waterfall was amazing and genuinely took our breath away. Could have stayed there for hours and just faxed would highly recommend anyone to visit here.

Only word to describe the view here -- outstanding. One of the most incredible spots to visit. Stopped as part of the longer Golden Circle tour and walked along both the top and bottom platforms. Lots of stairs (sometimes slippy when wet) but they are in the process of building new, much wider steps. Lots of parking and a small... More

This is a great place to visit if travelling around iceland. The waterfalls are amazing, its a nice walk along the tops and then down stairs to view from the bottom.

This truly is an amazing place to visit, while on the Golden Circle. I was in awe of the size, the volume of water, the variety of icey colours due to the mix of water, ice, snow, angles, speed of water, flowing over rocks. I walked down to the lower level for a view at that angle, then hiked along... More

Gullfoss is a wonderful thing to see. The waterfall is massive. There are two viewing options - up top and down below. I did both, and I'd say the view from the top is better. There seems to be ongoing construction of a new stairway down to the lower level, so that will be a big improvement. The upper viewing... More

This was one of the stops on our Golden Circle tour. The views are amazing just wish we could have stayed longer. You can climb down to the bottom or view from the top. I could easily have stayed a couple of hours just taking in the sheer size and power of this amazing waterfall. Ok it's not Niagra but... More

We visited when the wind was blowing very hard and the temperature was in the 20s F. Very bone numbing cold. To take my hands out of my gloves to take pictures was to have my fingers risk frostbite. It was hard even to look into the wind. But even in these conditions, I lingered quite a while at the... More

Having seen Niagara Falls, these falls are not quite as impressive. They are nevertheless beautiful and worth seeing. This is the third stop on Iceland's "Golden Triangle", so be prepared for lots of tourists. You will need to walk down several steps to get to the falls from the parking lot. Be very careful with your footing as the steps... More
