We were staying in Rovaniemi and decided to take the hour drive to the Ranua Zoo. It was a cold and snowy day, but after all, this is Finland. The roads were fine despite the on-going snow and we were dressed to spend our time...More

Visited the zoo for the second time. My kids loved it! A well organized zoo with arctic circle animals, bears, a newborn polar bear, Wolves, elks, eagles and white owls and easy path way through. You need more than an hour to walk it through....More

We were staying at the resort so visited a couple of times, would be difficult for anyone with mobility problems. Young children were towed round on sledges by their parents. Takes about 2 hours to go round.

Great open zoo in the middle of a forest. Amazing for kids. Simply magic, but often crowded with tourists and large groups.

It is one of the coolest and funniest zoom on the world! It reveals in memory Jerusalem zoo, but has its northern charm!!!

We visited the zoo at about 2.30pm which is getting dark in one hours time. The visit eventually turned out to become a night safari where you have to use torch lights to locate the animals. We were only able to see a few animals...More

Wrap up warm, and even more so if you have little ones. This is a gorgeous place, although it was extremely busy on xmas day. Hot chocolate in the ice bar was a great treat half way.

Although it was really cold, is worth the visit. We saw all sorts of animals and birds. Food at the restaurant is below average for the price. Overall a great day out.
