Visiting this cave was a highlight of our trip. The site is very basic without many upgrades for tourists like lights and clean walkways- which is great with me - just be ready to walk through mud and underground streams to seem some amazing stalagmites...More

All I can say is this, I had a dream about this cave and to walk in to it and see it exactly as pictured was amazing. Only allowed in with a tour guide, you'll be given boots for the process. Its very wet and...More

We visited these caves on a full day tour from Chachapoyas which also included the sarcophagi of Karajía. The full day excursion was far too long, lasting almost 11 hours. I'd prefer to have done a half day trip to Karajia and not visited the...More

Reminded me of the Nerja cave in Spain. Very beautiful. Difficult to walk because of all the mud and darkness

Kind of a sidelight of a tour on the way to see Karajia, we stopped here, rented boots and headed for the cave. There were a few features, but if you have been in many caves, this one isn't overly special, I didn't see any...More

Easy to access ancient tomb. Cave is interesting in its own right, but it's ancient use age ads another dimension. The reason it has taken so long to be discovered is another dimension. North Peru has so much to be found still !

We walked to the entrance and was treated by an owl flying out of the cave. The cave is not overly developed but does need expert protection to preserve the geological structures found inside. It is a wet and muddy experience and the cave was...More

The caves themselves are spacious and had some beautiful stalactites. But it is not the most interesting cave from a geological perspective. Note that the cave floor is very muddy and wet . The location is beautiful as is the drive up which makes the...More
