This castle is well worth a stop if you are in the area. Built on a spit of land the view from the top of the triangular built castle/ fortress is very good - but go below - its horrible - damp & dark. If you have a guide - so much the better. Learn something about its his history... More

It's worth a trip out to the this castle if you're staying nearby (15 minutes from Himare down the coast) but it's nothing too exciting. The history behind it is interesting but they don't tell you much at the castle itself and its poorly lit and in need of a little renovation to improve access. You do get excellent views... More

Very nice castle in probably the most beautiful bay of the Albanian riviera. It is a must for both history and nature lovers.

One of the nicest beaches, magnificent views, a nice bar across the street.... A bit further there is a military port,.... James Bond style...

This is another great place to visit. The beach in underneath and the castle lies on top of the mountain. The castle is unique and very beautiful. A must visit for everyone. The bay is small but very suitable for people who love quietness and peace.

Probably the best beach in Albania (but we haven't been to Gjipe). Plenty of free space even in high season. South side great for snorkeling and the concrete dock on the north calls for jumps. Check the fortress above it.

Beautiful set in a little bay where you can go swimming, cost 100 Lek. Not much to read on site so do your homework. Inside it is very dark so bring a torch. Nice view from the top of the castle. Price is 100 Lek per person.

a cool castle by the sea to check out built in the early 19th century. the castle is locked but there is an old man walking around who has the key. it costs 100 lek to go inside. it's quite large with downstairs used to be a prison. it's quite dark so be wary and slippery in some spots. you... its not lit inside, so it actually gives it a feel of authenticity it wouldnt have otherwise - and it's usually locked, but the old guy will see you driving down the pathway and come over from the restaurant across the street to open it for you so you can walk around. it has a great view from the terrace...
