Very nice, great walks, well laid out. Saw the biggest Tortisous (not sure on spelling there) that I have seen. Some of them well over 100 years. I walked around and around nice lillte rivers running through with the ducks. It was a wet day...More

I was skeptical when my husband wanted to visit the botanical gardens. I usually find them to be rather boring and overly manicured. But the SSR Botanical Garden was beautiful. It was well maintained but you still felt you were out in nature. The lotus...More

The big lilly pads were quite interesting, the deer quite sweet and desperate for any grass you wish to give them, but otherwise it was a bit dull - lots of not terribly interesting trees and barely any flowers at all - not worth paying...More

My wife and I got there as it opened so we weren't bothered by crowds of tourists being shown around. We relied on the simple map to guide us around, there didn't seem a lot of point in hiring one of the guides to walk...More

This must be your "thing", it is ours and the unusual plants, trees are worth a visit. We were there about 2 hours, lots of photos, rare break from the rain we had..

The SSR Botanical Gardens are a wonderful way to spend a few hours. Whether you take the guided tour, which at 50MUR per person is very good value or just wander at your own pace, there is plenty to discover. The entrance cost is 200MUR,...More

Its a big place and you could spend all day there! Impressive but also oppressive as you are surrounded by tall trees most of the time. Liked the huge water lillies

Spent a few hours at the botanical gardens. A few memorable things to see including the Amazonian lilies. Had a very good guide but a little hurried on the tour. The layout of the gardens was a little disappointing but glad we went.

Fabulous day, we paid for a guide BUT he wasn't exclusive to us, so we had to wait for the French version before the English. Some gorgeous Andy interesting trees and a very clean and tidy site. It didn't take long to do the entire...More

We went through to the botanical gardens and we're very disappointed. It was badly manicured and we also felt like we were been followed with intention of been mugged and only felt safe once a crowd of tourists came close by. We also never saw...More

We got taken to a rip off restaurant by our taxi driver it's called Le Pecheur and was very very expensive. Some friends ate at the Sugar Factory and said that was good so it's probably a better bet.
Hi, How long should one allow for this park please? We'd want to see most if not all of it. Is it best in the morning or afternoon around this time of year (March)? Finally is it best to go there from Grand Baie or Flic en Flac if one is using public transport OR rented car? Many thanks!!
