We were on the last trip of the season and lucky enough to observe a mother , calf and male escort- an amazing experience! Kim and her team are extremely knowledgeable and professional and put the welfare of the whales first- following strict whale watching regulations and contributing to marine conservation. The company provided sickness bands and ensured everyone was... More

We went with Whale Samana on a whale watching trip end of march 2017. Whale Samana is a very professional operator which takes safety, protection of whales and environment and regulation very serious. We were accompanied by two marine biologists. They were more than willing to share their vast knowledge about whales. An absolute must do!

I can't believe I have lived in the Dominican Republic for over 12 years and this was my first trip to Samana to see the whales. We were so pleased that we booked to go on Kim's boat. The trip was fantastic and we saw 8 or 9 whales in total including following a mother and baby. Kim and her... More

Our whale viewing with Kim and her crew couldn't have been better. The knowledge of and passion for humpbacks was evident in everyone on her team. We were comfortable and well taken care of on her boat, with plenty of drinks and snacks, and the offer of rain gear. We were fortunate to spend quite a bit of time watching... More

We had a group of 12 including 6 children ages 4-10. The staff is really knowledgeable and helpful. They share some background on humpback whales and why they come to Samana. Then as you are looking for whales the staff gets your soda/water, candy and crackers which are all included. They will also give you motion sickness medicine if you... More

We booked this tour directly with Whale Samana through the internet. It was quick and easy, perhaps cheaper than going through one of the local travel agents. We took the tour on March 3 on the 9:00 AM tour. Kim Beddall indicated that it might be a bit rough, so we took the offered dramamine pills and the wrist bands,... More

Would recommend this experience. Run by marine biologists, there is nothing that they dont know about the Hump Back Whale. Boat was in good condition, well run, and crew very professional. Found whales after 10 minutes and then was given a lovely display by a female and her male escort. If you are in the Samana region then thoroughly recommend... More
