This touristic objective is located on the perimeter;l fasgaras city , being one of the most important fortresses of Transylvania . Built in year 1291 on the place of a called Il Vecchio fortresses waves of land and burned the Tatars in incursiubile of conquest of new territories .I am glad to be able to help .

It was a realy nice place to visit . The fortress is well maintain and it is a simbol of the romanian history and to the sorowndings .

The fortress is almost 80% rehabilitated. With a cheap ticket one can view several medieval art collections(pottery, iron tools, clothing, furniture, weapons), and ancient ones; there are some very interesting church objects including old icons; there's even the changing on guards shifts.

A historical building born in 1310. A fortress for defending country-borders. The walls of the fortress will tell you stories about princes and princesses of old times. Enjoy !

We bundled this activity with a car rental and a trip to Prejmer fortified church.. a great day. Fagaras fortress showcases the new and old .. the outer walls are all preserved and old.. the bastions you could enter imagine the activity going on here in the past. The jail area was also old and impressive.. dark and scary ..Inside... More

This is an absolute must see when in and around Fagaras. The place is renovated with nice clean interior. The throne room and the museum are great !

It was a nice to visit spot. Can be done much more in my opinion by the managers. Maybe to try to get some authentic furniture to decorate rooms or to make more interactive the approach of the visitors but to the end was a well spent time visiting. The Fagaras Fortress is definetely a place to visit, even if it that means a small decoy from the original itinerary. There are not too many things to see in the town, but the Fortress is surely a place where you'll get amazed by its beauty and size. The fortress in Fagaras was recently refurbished, I recommend you visit it and explore a part of Romanian history and legacy.

Is recently refurbished and it looks very good. The throne chamber, lady bedroom, and conference room are looking very good. is also a museum inside with different objects from various times very good preserved. Also the blacksmith around the walls is very genuine. you have to spend 3-4 hours for a fully visiting of the place.
