So, in total we visited 5 monasteries in the area and I'm only going to review this one because the same review can be applied to all. The painted churches within the monasteries are the attraction and in fact the only part you are able to see in most cases. The frescoes are truly stunning, some in better condition than... More

Beautiful fortifications, monastery, Beautiful internal and external monastery frescoes, which were very well preserved, unlike those in other monasteries. Also very nice internal garden. You can spend about an hour here. In the path to the monastery entrance there's an old nun welcoming you in a variety of languages. On the way back she seismic for a donation to establish... More

Another of the monasteries of the region with the central church painted in the Moldavian style depicting biblical scenes. The fortified walls surrounding the church also house an ecclesiastical museum.

Sucevita Monastery is an Eastern Orthodox convent located in the Bucovina region of Northern Romania. It was built between 1581-1601 and features beautiful frescoes both inside and outside. There are a number of other similar monasteries in the area but this is one of the nicest. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 2010. There is... More

Sucevita Monastery is very beautiful. All walls are painted and it shows a true history and says about God. Here is very quiet. I like it.

Located in southern Bucovina are the beautiful grounds and buildings of the Sucevita Monastery. The church is covered both inside and out by well preserved by mural paintings, depicting biblical episodes from the Old and New Testament. A fee allows you to photograph the outside but not inside. There is also a small museum situated, in one of the rooms... More

This is a great monastery, with fortifications surrounding it. You can also find a small museum inside. Great scenic view also, and the village is superb.

Of all the monasteries in the Bucovina, this one was my favorite. We visited on a warm summer day, and the setting was just gorgeous: blue sky, rolling hills, dark pines and a whole field of haystacks. The monastery itself had some plaques explaining its building, and a few people collecting alms in the entrance way. It is fully surrounded... More

very interesting place, quite well preserved. calm to walk and avoid yelling little people and cool teenagers. do not wear shorts above knees (esp. women) because they will give you a piece of material to cover your lusty legs.

Excelent. Is one of the monasteries of Bucovina which worth to visit. It's the only monastery that keeps the north wall. On the south wall it has a great fresco named The stairway to Heaven.
