This is a beautiful temple definitely worth seeing. We did it as a hand day in a morning. Got a red taxi shared with others there, the driver waited for all of us to take us back. It cost 100 baht each. Don't bother paying for a trip you can manage it by yourself!

It was a nice view from the top of the mountain. We took a songthaew from the North gate up where it was 50THB one way per person. We had to wait for 10 people to fill the songthaew - maybe 30 minutes. I get motion sickness but I was fine on the trip up and down the mountain. There... More

Located on top of a mountain overlooking the city of Chiang Mai this is truly a place to visit. It's a little bit of a challenge to master the stairways from the arrival/parking area up to the Wat (monastery), but once you managed that challenge (and, if you are a non-Thai "farang" visitor, after dishing out 30 THB) you are... Taken here as part of a Wendy Woo tour. What a magnificent place, we could have spent all day here. Everything is so well maintained and parts of it are still operational with monks living in.

This temple may be out of the way, but it is well worth the trip outside of town. Rent a taxi to get you there, and get an early start so you beat the crowds and tour buses. The drive up the mountain is pretty in its own right, and I was very impressed to see bikers somehow managing to... More

We went abut 5.pm and watched the monks ceremony and chanting. It was a lovely setting but a little busy. After about 6 pm they put lights on and the Chedi makes a different photograph. It is magical. There are lots of steps so it easier to take the elevator.

This is my first meditation retreat, so I'm probably biased. Based on what I hear, many other retreats are strict on rules and times, particularly hard on beginners. This retreat is very flexible and relaxed about rules, so it's easier to grow into it. However, the more rules you follow, the deeper you dig into your mind. There isn't a... More

This is an amazing temple in an exceptional location. In addition to the temple the views of Chiang Mai on the way there, are worth the trip The temple is on top of a mountain so it's probably a good idea to take a taxi or rent a car. There are quite a few bikers going up the hill, but... More

Impresive temple! As a foreigner you have to pay a small fee to enter. Also prepare yourself to climb more than 300 steps to reach the main area. One thing, if possible, rent a scooter to go to the temple yourself. The road and view from the hill are breathtaking. You can also continue to vidit the Bhubing Palace and... More
