Took our grandchildren here for the Easter Egg Hunt. Had a great day out with clues spaced out throughout the woodland walk. The kids loved it. With a BBQ, Tombola, live music and face painting for the kids, there was plenty to do. Grounds are very picturesque and there is a nice lawned area within the walled garden where people... More

A peaceful walk around the woodland and walled gardens of Goodnestone. It is 7 years since our last visit and we had forgotten how many wonderful plants and trees there are to see... camellias and azaleas were all in bloom too.Hard at work in the walled garden was the head gardener Paul whose devotion is apparent .There is a part... Beautiful walled garden and woodlands in stunning countryside. House looks stunning too, just wish I could afford to rent it.

I thought this was quite expensive when compared to Comp Gardens in Kent. It cost £6.00 but although it has the making of a lovely garden, it seems that it is in need of some much needed care and attention. The pond was dry, looks to be undergoing work. A lot of the plants were not at their best, could... More

I love gardening and I love visiting gardens for inspiration. I just didn't feel the entry fee matched the state of venue. I walked around Goodnestone Park walled garden noticing the many tasks that required attention before opening to the public! Also please remove the 'art work' from the tearoom, it's embarrassingly expensive for what it is. Any produce from... More

It's a slightly shabby country house and gardens that is a pleasure to walk around. For my money more interesting than Sissinghurst (which is my new yardstick for failure). Worth a ten mile drive if you like gardens and the English countryside.

Tucked away a few miles south east of Canterbury is the tiny village of Goodnestone - worthy of a visit in its own right. At the end of the village you will find Goodnestone Park. This privately owned park is only open on certain days so check opening times before you visit - but your visit will be well worth... More

There was little of interest on our visit today. The walled garden had a few flowers but nothing striking. A few minutes to go through the gravel garden. The pond was a joke, I know we have had little rain recently but a few aquatic plants in a bed of mud.. well what can I say. I took us less than... More

We are members of the Historic Houses Association (HHA). Goodnestone Park Gardens is include in the scheme and our annual membership fee entitles us to free entry to this and many other houses and gardens. We visited last week. On presenting our HHA cards to the two ladies at the entry desk we were told quite firmly that the gardens... More
