We visited not really knowing much of Morwellham but at the end of the day we knew lots. The staff have a passion and enthusiasm to explain the significance and history of the area in a manner that appeals to all ages. There are many restored buildings and sessions to explain how the used to do and make things, quite... More

An interesting attraction, appeared to be short of staff, the copper mine tour was interesting, personal view was that it was very over priced.

I took the family to Morwellham, slightly nervous as to how good it would be. Always dreaded this place as a kid-so boring. Went again when my eldest (now 14) was about 3 or 4 (still boring) and never since then. My non-local husband always suggests going here on a day out, mainly as a joke as he knew how... More

We were a bit dubious as the attraction didn't seem to be well publicised, but visited as we were staying at Woodovis Park (myself and other half and 14 year old daughter). We all let out our inner child in the play area, as no-one else was there, then had a look round the very varied site, with all sorts... More

Our trip to Devon was no the best holiday ever but this was the highlight. It is well worth a visit including going down the copper mine. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and dressed in clothes of the time. In fact school children could also dress up and act as they would in the time of the mine. The only... More

We spent a wonderful day at Morwhellam. Our two grandchildren got to do all the activities and loved every moment. We were amused to find that all the activities were led by only three different members of staff. Phil was particularly interesting; he made chocolate, baked bread and made rope! Everyone was helpful and friendly and the children learned lots... More

This place was great, really good informative day out that we and the kids loved. It is suited to families and parents with younger children, lots of little workshops for the kids to watch and participate in which they loved. Best part of the day was the mine train which takes you into an old disused Copper Mine (gets pitch... More

We loved it, our hardworking guide seemed to do most of it (Phil) and very good he was too. We did all of it, the mine ride, which was great and had someone who was interesting and fun guiding us. Phil did the rest, the bakery, the chockery (our word for the chocolate factory) the school, the ropes the child... More

A pleasant day, cost £40 for a family of five with a 10% discount for online booking and an extra £4.50 for a ride into the mine. A quiet day when we visited that easily occupied five hours, kids baked (and ate!) bread rolls, vent to Victorian School, were engaged in child labour, made chocolate lollies and rope We took...
