Only about 40 minutes from Yerevan, and a fantastic look into history. You MUST go to the museum and you MUST get a tour. Takes about an hour and a half. I've lived here over 2 years and I learned a lot. And the museum building itself is beautiful.

Spending 3 hours in the museum isn't enough, based on my opinion. Admiring architecture and beautiful designs.

I would recommend visiting the museum and request a tourist guide to explain the story behind this attraction. It's one of the most important symbols in the country.

This park and memorial complex near the Turkish border memorialises a battle in 1918 where Armenia's makeshift, rag-taggle little army beat the imperial Turks and so saved the nation from obliteration. The site includes a bell tower with 12 bells (symbolising the lost provinces again) and two enormous winged lions. The views are gorgeous over Ararat and the Armenian plain.... More

As Armenian living in Armenia I have to inform the TRIPADVISOR visitors that there is no place SARDARABAD near GYUMRI City. SARDARABAD is located near ARMAVIR City (former HOKTEMBERYAN) in the ARMAVIR Marze (district).
