I spent the night before in a Anopoli , at the morning they drove me to the aradena bridge . Behind the parking lot there a sign that leads to the trail into the gorge. After 2-3 minutes waking you will arrive to the entrance to the gorge. The trail is not difficult but you need to be careful because... More

We tried to visit the gorge from the bottom. The walk from the port in Agia to the entrance is itself already an hour. A tiring hour in quite boring scenery, on the way there are many cafes and places you can buy water and other drinks and snacks. The admission is 5 euro pp. Then the hike starts, we... More

We walked from Finix along the E4 to Marmara beach and entered to gorge by 9.30am Good foot wear required and look carefully for the route markings which are painted on the rocks, it is rough in quite a few places., with some scrambling .A steady pace got us to the bridge at Aradena by 12.30 , you walk under... This is a great trekking in crete. It's quite easy and can take 2 hours at good pace. Start at the incredible bridge in aradena and end at Marmara beach. We decided to walk from Marmara to Loutro through the coastal path - it's a bit tricky at times but very nice and worth it. Going to Loutro by foot... More

Amazing views, i think its better than Samaria, there less people, and at the end of gorge is amazing Marmara beach. It is one of the most beutiful beach in Creta.

After a long serpantine road we found this treasure. It's an absolutely-must-visit on Crete. It's much more wild, than the Samaria gorge. Definitely not suitable for kids.

If you've been to Crete, then this is a must see! The road alone is worth - the serpentine, a lot! You will drive through two villages Kampia and Anopoli, here you will find a fantastic taverna`s - for a good prices and food just fantastic, so not necessary to bring food from Hora Sfakion. Free to find a room... More

We drove to the wooden bridge over the Gorge Arodena. Its a lovely drive and the trees on that side of Crete are different to the North. Many windy roads and interesting little villages and views, goats and sheep, mountains and valleys. The bridge is made of planks which rattle madly as you cross. There is a tourist shop on... More

The most stressful part was a driving with a bus from Chora Sfakia to Aradena. Tiny serpentine roads, height - amazing but scary. Aradena itself wasn't very hard. We did it from the top to the Marmara beach. As we started early enough (a bus from Chora Sfakia left about 8 in the morning) it wasn't hot even in the... More

If you are going to do the circular walk, do the route down as early as you can in the day, before the hillside gets too hot. We drove to the village of Aradena at the top and parked in the village. From there we walked back over the bridge to the turning for the surfaced road to Livaniana, and... More
